It is obvious she is trying to get this across as she has cut off part of the womans face putting the flowers in the center, showing that the woman isnt the most important feature in this photo. Also the woman is staring down at them making you want to look at what she is staring at. The effect of this photo isnt very focused and is quite blurry in places. Her skin is very pale against the black background making the flowers stand out even more. There isnt much lighting in this photo making it look quite dull. This gives it the effect of quite a sad depressing mood.
